WNE CEE students in U.S. DOE's Solar Decathlon Competition

The Solar Decathlon team consisting of students in the Depatment of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Western New England University and other two univerties from Central America (Universidad Tecnológica de Panamá and Universidad Tecnológica Centroamericana in Honduras) traveled to Irvine, CA, in October to complete construction of their two-bedroom 680 square foot, solar-powered home as part of the 2015 U.S. Department of Energy Solar Decathlon Competition. By the end of the competition, the Western New England CEE students team tied for first place in the Affordability contest, and came in second place in the Energy Balance contest. Congratulation!!
